A BRIEF OF BOGOR ORGANIC FAIR 5

AOI which is  an organization that carrying a mandate to promote organic farming and facilitate market access of organic agricultural products in Indonesia, has pioneered an exhibition event since 2010 which is named “Bogor Organic Fair” (BOF).

Our theme for 2015 is “Organic Food Street” and  it is hope that visitors will be 10,000 peoples and high lighted by 100 booths and food festival stalls from all over Indonesia and Asia and is targeting a transaction of Rp. 500.000.000, –

This BOF 2015 will be cooperated by IFOAM and IFOAM Asia, and hopefully there will be an international seminar on Organic Agricultute who the speakers are from IFOAM and IFOAM Asia. This is as a first step before Indonesia ( BOF ) became the forerunner like BioFach.

There are a variety of activities such as talk shows, workshops, seminars, and cooking demos, kids cooking demo and kid coloring contest and “Color Run” that will be enliven the BOF5. Traditional performances such as ‘angklung’ and ‘dog dog lojor’ (West Java traditional music derived from bamboo), also enlivened by the band as well as quizzes in between activities.

We also want to introduce that organic food materials that can be found around us can be served in a good appearence, so as to increase the sale value of the product like a high class food. Nowadays, Indonesia have so many traditional recipes.

Up to forth, BOF held in collaboration with the City Government of Bogor with the support of stakeholders from government (esp. Indonesia Ministry of Agriculture), academia, national and international figures, sponsors, media partners and communities of organic and eco-friendly observers. We also want to include this event to become Bogor annually event.

BOF activity is part of the efforts in campaigning AOI organic farming and fair trade in Indonesia. The hope of this activity can be sustained, together with various parties and a grand event to be collaborating with organic and fair trade at the world level as BioFach.

BOF as the annual event has long-term goals (7-10 years) is a trade center, education center and organic farm advocacy center in Indonesia and become part of the organic farming movement and the regional and global fair trade.

Through this event, hoping that Indonesia is able to produce agricultural products are friendly to nature and do not violate human rights are knowing by the world. And it must have been from year to year, BOF will be flooded with organic agricultural products, consumers and traders of organic agricultural products. In the future BOF will also be flooded by the importer of organic agricultural products from other countries.
